From the in-home consultation to installation day and everything in between, MVID will take the stress out of your remodeling project. The result here is a turn-key service. We help you through the whole design process, from conceptual design through construction, furniture installation and styling. This option includes space planning, materials specifications, cabinetry design, liaising with contractors and vendors, and support throughout construction.
Overwhelmed with where to start? Book an in-home consultation! We will meet at your home, review the project scope, and evaluate your ideas, needs, wants, and challenges. Be prepared to get the most out of this session -- this is a good time to bring out all the Ideabooks, Pinterest boards, and imagery that you have been gathering. Included is up to 2 hours of one-on-one time with MVID where we will make suggestions and talk about specifics to uncover what the next step will be.
This service can be used either within a remodel/new build scope or as a stand-alone. We work with you to source out furniture pieces, update your space, and specify unique furnishing items from our long list of amazing vendors only available to the trade.
This initial phase includes a complimentary discovery call, in home consultation, and if you decide to move forward with our team, a full service design proposal to follow. The design proposal will be tailored to your project, and we will provide an estimate of hours required to complete the design phase.
During the Concept and Presentation phase, we will schedule a time to take measurements, photos, and gather all other information necessary to start the project, as well as discuss your preferences and your goals for the design. Once we have all the information needed, we start with a preliminary layout and design direction.
A Conceptual Presentation is scheduled. This is the time for you, as the client, to give your thoughts and feedback on our ideas. Finally, for our next meeting, I provide you with detailed drawings, mood boards, finishes, and other design choices.
Once all the details are finalized, MVID will develop an extended set of plans, documents, and specifications, and we will conduct a walkthrough with the general contractor and any subcontractors. Because of our attention to details and organized approach, we will have all the information needed to receive a thorough bid from contractors that reflects the actual cost of the project, without ‘allowances’ or ‘estimates’.
At this point in the process, our design contract is complete. The drawing package is submitted for permit by contractor, if required, and construction begins. Though the design portion is done, we don’t go away! MVID offers support throughout the construction, as needed, to make sure our vision is being executed with quality and integrity.
Phase 5 happens concurrently with Phase 4. During this phase, MVID will place orders for any materials or fixtures, provided by us, needed for construction. The General Contractor is responsible for purchasing the majority of building materials and finishes. MVID will also order and purchase all other furnishings and stylized items to complete the project.
Truly everyone’s favorite phase in the process is the last--installation and celebration! On this day, as your designer, I come and install furnishings, accessories, and anything else to be added. Everything down to the very smallest detail is carefully coordinated! And don’t forget, this is the time to celebrate the completed job!
